By Amit Chowdhry ● Today at 7:48 AM

Omni Bridgeway closed its Funds 4 and 5 Series 2 capital raise at the full targeted size of $1 billion. The final close expands the legal finance firm’s institutional investor base while maintaining a high level of participation from existing investors.

Investors representing 99% of Series 1 commitments reinvested in Series 2.

More than 50% of Series 2 capital was committed by repeat Series 1 investors.

The fundraising increases Omni Bridgeway’s assets under management to approximately A$5.9 billion, or $4.2 billion.

The close comes as Omni Bridgeway marks its 40th year operating as a specialist investor in legal assets and its 25th year listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Funds 4 and 5 Series 2 will invest across legal assets diversified by jurisdiction, area of law, and investment strategy.

Omni Bridgeway is contributing approximately 20% of the capital in Series 2 through general partner co-investment.

As of June 30, 2026, the firm had completed 822 investments across its platform.

Omni Bridgeway reported a portfolio-wide multiple of invested capital of 2.4x across multiple decades and economic cycles.

The company said its capital model is designed to provide funded parties with dedicated capital committed to individual matters.

Omni Bridgeway also emphasized that it remains the sole decision-maker on its capital commitments and that funding availability is not dependent on other portfolio outcomes, third-party underwriting, syndication, or broader capital market conditions.

The $1 billion fundraising forms part of a broader capital strategy that also includes sidecar capital and structured finance solutions.

Omni Bridgeway plans to continue scaling and diversifying its legal finance platform across jurisdictions and areas of law.

The company operates with approximately 160 professionals across more than 20 locations and 15 countries.

KEY QUOTES:

“In legal finance, institutional capital is consolidating around mature, scaled managers with proprietary origination and work-out capability, and a track record of disciplined underwriting that has performed through multiple economic cycles.”

“Our successful close, the 99% reinvestment rate, and the sophisticated institutional quality of our investment base reflect our leading position within legal finance.”

“Funded parties increasingly and rightly focus on capital availability, long-term stability and commitment authority. Every dollar we commit is matched by dedicated fund capital earmarked to that matter. Omni Bridgeway is the sole decision-maker, and the availability of our capital commitment is not exposed to the outcome of other portfolio investments, capital market conditions, third-party underwriting or syndication. Counterparties increasingly recognize and value these differentiators – and accordingly assign a premium to our capital.”

“The US$1 billion raised in connection with Funds 4 and 5 Series 2 sits alongside a broader capital strategy, with sidecar capital and structured finance solutions continuing to expand alongside our core funds, supporting Omni Bridgeway’s aim of further scaling and diversifying its platform.”
