Omni Fiber announced that it has acquired Citizens Fiber, a fiber-optic Internet, TV, and phone service provider serving communities throughout Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The acquisition expands Omni Fiber’s footprint in western Pennsylvania and supports the company’s strategy of bringing high-speed fiber connectivity to underserved communities across the region.
Citizens Fiber serves communities including Latrobe, Greensburg, Mt. Pleasant, Acme, Pleasant Unity, Mammoth, Youngstown, Norvelt, and surrounding areas. By combining operations, the companies will provide residential and business customers with access to symmetrical Internet speeds of up to 10 Gbps, along with TV, phone, and mobile services.
According to the companies, Citizens Fiber’s established presence and reputation for reliable fiber-based services make it a strategic fit for Omni Fiber’s mission of expanding access to 100% fiber-optic broadband. Existing Citizens Fiber customers are expected to experience uninterrupted service during the transition, while gaining access to Omni Fiber’s broader portfolio of services in the coming months.
The acquisition also supports Omni Fiber’s broader growth plans. The company said it has invested more than $500 million in fiber network construction and is expanding across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Texas. Following the transaction, Omni Fiber plans to deepen its presence in western Pennsylvania, where it aims to add nearly 200,000 locations across Fayette, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
Founded in 2022 and backed by Oak Hill Capital, Omni Fiber provides fiber Internet, mobile, TV, and phone services to residential and business customers. The company offers symmetrical speeds of up to 10 Gbps, no data caps, premium Wi-Fi, and local customer service.
