Omnissa has appointed Amit Singh as CEO, effective immediately, bringing in the former President of Palo Alto Networks and co-founder and former President of Google Cloud as the digital workspace company prepares for what it describes as an emerging era of “agentic endpoints.”
Singh succeeds Shankar Iyer, who recently stepped down as CEO to pursue other opportunities.

His appointment comes as Omnissa focuses on the implications of AI agents operating directly across laptops, smartphones, virtual desktops, and other enterprise endpoints.
The company sees endpoint management becoming increasingly important as AI agents gain the ability to perform tasks using employee identities, credentials, permissions, corporate applications, and data.
Omnissa’s platform spans unified endpoint management, virtual desktops and applications, digital employee experience, and endpoint security.
The company said it serves more than 15,000 enterprise customers and tens of millions of endpoints through those capabilities. Its company profile separately states that Omnissa is trusted by 26,000 customers worldwide.

Singh believes the endpoint could become an important security and management layer for enterprise AI agents.
He expects organizations to increasingly need tools capable of understanding which agents are operating on corporate devices, what credentials and permissions they possess, which systems they access, and how inappropriate activity can be remediated.
Singh most recently served as President of Palo Alto Networks.
According to Omnissa, Palo Alto Networks increased its market value fivefold during his tenure, launched multiple billion-dollar businesses, and became the first cybersecurity company to reach a $100 billion valuation.
Before Palo Alto Networks, Singh spent nearly a decade at Google, where he was a co-founder and President of Google Cloud.

Singh is also the founder of abovecloud9.ai, which uses AI to expand access to meditation and mental well-being programs in partnership with the Art of Living Foundation.
Omnissa is privately held and employs approximately 4,000 people.
The company has a 20-year history in digital workspace technology and is now seeking to extend its existing device management and security capabilities to environments where AI agents increasingly perform enterprise work.
Omnissa’s board believes Singh’s experience scaling cloud and cybersecurity platforms can support that transition.
