Ondas Buys Stake In Insight Intelligent Sensors To Expand AI Sensing Capabilities

By Amit Chowdhry • Nov 1, 2025

Ondas Holdings has acquired a controlling interest in Israel-based Insight Intelligent Sensors, strengthening its AI-driven electro-optical sensing capabilities and expanding its multi-domain autonomy ecosystem. The move deepens Ondas’ reach across defense, homeland security, and environmental resilience markets.

Insight Intelligent Sensors develops AI-powered electro-optical systems designed for real-time anomaly detection in complex and contested environments. Its proprietary Smart Imaging Module (SIM) enables ultra-high-resolution edge processing to detect, classify, and track small drones, vehicles, people, and early signs of wildfires, even in GPS-denied or RF-contested settings. The systems are already deployed by U.S. and Israeli defense and homeland security agencies, proving their reliability in real-world operations.

Ondas’ investment will accelerate Insight’s product commercialization, serial production, and expansion into broader markets. The acquisition also advances Ondas’ strategy to unify sensing, autonomy, and communications across air, ground, and maritime systems for both defense and commercial customers.

Through its Ondas Autonomous Systems (OAS) business unit, Ondas delivers autonomous aerial and ground robot intelligence via subsidiaries such as American Robotics, Airobotics, and Apeiro Motion. Integrating Insight’s technology into these platforms will enhance surveillance, counter-UAS, and early-warning applications across a range of mission environments.

The acquisition also supports Ondas’ vision of delivering intelligent, autonomous, and connected solutions to U.S., NATO, and allied partners, while addressing emerging needs in intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), border protection, disaster response, and critical infrastructure security.

Ondas Holdings operates through three business units: OAS, Ondas Networks, and Ondas Capital. OAS develops AI-powered defense and security platforms such as the Optimus System—an FAA-certified small UAS for automated aerial security and data capture—and the Iron Drone Raider, an autonomous counter-UAS platform. Ondas Networks provides software-defined wireless broadband technology based on the IEEE 802.16t standard, serving mission-critical IoT applications in rail, utilities, energy, and transportation sectors. And Ondas Capital focuses on advisory and investment strategies to accelerate the scaling and deployment of unmanned and autonomous systems across global defense markets.

KEY QUOTES:
