Ondo Finance has named Allison Parent Chief Policy Officer as the tokenization platform expands its global regulatory strategy following rapid growth in its tokenized stock products.
Parent brings approximately two decades of financial policy experience across government, central banking, major financial institutions and global capital markets industry organizations.
She most recently served as Executive Director of the Global Financial Markets Association, a position she held beginning in 2017 while representing major financial and capital markets companies on cross-border regulatory and market structure issues.
Before GFMA, Parent served as Head of Global Policy and Strategy at Barclays in London.
Her earlier roles included Senior Policy Advisor and Counsel for Markets at the Bank of England, Director for Government Policy and Finance at Barclays in Washington and General Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on the Budget.
During her Senate tenure, she advised on financial legislation including the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act.
At Ondo, Parent will lead policy and regulatory engagement as tokenized assets move further into institutional financial markets.
Her appointment follows significant growth in Ondo’s tokenized stocks, which surpassed $1 billion in total value locked in less than eight months.
Ondo has also received authorization from the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority with passporting across the EU and EEA.
Its digital securities became the first admitted for trading under Abu Dhabi Global Market’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority framework through Binance’s Multilateral Trading Facility, while SEC-registered broker-dealer subsidiary Oasis Pro Markets has received FINRA authorizations.
The regulatory progress increases the importance of cross-border policy coordination as Ondo attempts to build infrastructure connecting traditional securities with blockchain-based markets.
KEY QUOTE:
“Tokenization is the most significant advancement in market infrastructure in a generation, and getting the regulatory foundation and necessary industry standards right will determine how quickly its benefits reach investors and institutions globally.”
