One Biosciences Secures €3.3 Million To Develop AI-Powered Single-Cell Diagnostic For Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

One Biosciences and Institut Curie have secured €3.3 million through France 2030’s i-Démo program to accelerate development of what they aim to commercialize as the first single-cell diagnostic platform for guiding treatment decisions in triple-negative breast cancer.

The four-year CAST, or Cancer Single-cell Analysis for Therapy, project will advance One Biosciences’ OneMap technology toward use as an in vitro diagnostic test.

Triple-negative breast cancer represents approximately 15% to 20% of breast cancer cases and is associated with high relapse rates, rapid disease progression and limited treatment options.

One Biosciences said existing diagnostic approaches can obscure tumor heterogeneity because they average biological signals across millions of cells, making it difficult to identify which patients are most likely to respond to immunotherapy or chemotherapy combinations.

OneMap combines single-cell transcriptomics with AI to analyze tumors at the resolution of individual cells.

The platform is designed to generate clinically actionable reports within approximately two weeks using standard hospital biopsies.

By identifying cellular populations associated with treatment resistance, the technology could help physicians make more precise therapeutic decisions.

One Biosciences is a spinout of Institut Curie and is developing clinical-grade single-cell tumor profiling technology intended to move single-cell analysis from research environments into routine oncology care.

The funding gives the company and Institut Curie additional resources to industrialize OneMap, validate predictive biomarkers, prepare for regulatory approval and expand laboratory infrastructure ahead of potential commercialization.
