OneSpan announced that it has completed its acquisition of Build38, a company specializing in next-generation mobile application protection solutions. The deal follows the signing of a definitive agreement announced on January 12, 2026, and brings Build38’s mobile security technology, engineering talent, and cloud-driven threat intelligence platform into OneSpan’s cybersecurity portfolio.
With the transaction finalized, OneSpan plans to integrate Build38’s SDK-based security technology into its App Shielding offering. The combined capabilities are designed to strengthen mobile application security through continuous in-app protection, cloud-powered threat intelligence, and adaptive AI-driven defenses.
The integration is intended to provide customers with enhanced visibility into emerging threats, including risks related to AI, while enabling faster and more precise threat responses. OneSpan said the expanded platform will help organizations secure high-value mobile experiences as digital ecosystems continue to evolve.
Build38 provides mobile application protection solutions used across sectors such as mobile banking, payments, SoftPOS, fintech, mobile identity, crypto wallets, automotive systems, and digital health. Founded in 2019 as a spin-off of Giesecke+Devrient, the company has received backing from investors including G+D Ventures, eCAPITAL Entrepreneurial Partners, Criteria Venture Tech, and Tikehau Capital.
According to OneSpan, the acquisition is not expected to materially affect the company’s full-year 2026 financial guidance.
