The combination is designed to give agricultural businesses a more integrated system for managing operational information, compliance, safety, biosecurity, and market access.
Onside’s technology helps agribusinesses track activity across farms and other agricultural sites, manage contractors and visitors, address health and safety requirements, and monitor biosecurity risks involving pests and disease.
Assura adds configurable workflow technology that can be adapted to different business processes and compliance requirements.
Onside said connecting the companies’ systems should give customers improved visibility into operational risk while reducing the need to manage information across multiple separate platforms.
The combined business will support more than 60,000 users across six countries: New Zealand, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Fiji. Onside Acquires Assura to Expan…
The acquisition also adds Assura’s existing enterprise customer relationships and an experienced software team.
Onside plans to use the expanded platform to serve customers ranging from individual producers and agricultural service providers to processors and larger multi-site enterprises.
The transaction follows a period of substantial growth for Onside.
Over the past 12 months, the company’s annual recurring revenue increased 114%, more than doubling as it expanded its scale and international presence. Onside Acquires Assura to Expan…
Onside is now beginning a capital-raising process intended to support its next phase of expansion and accelerate investment in employees, technology, and international markets.
The company did not disclose the size of the planned financing.
For Assura, the acquisition provides access to Onside’s broader agricultural technology platform and international customer base.
Hamish Howard, CEO of Assura, will join Onside’s leadership team following the transaction.
Onside sees growing opportunities as agricultural businesses face increasingly complex compliance, safety, quality assurance, and biosecurity requirements.
Its strategy is to consolidate information from those functions into a common operating platform, allowing businesses to identify risks and manage compliance without relying on multiple disconnected systems.
The acquisition strengthens that strategy by adding Assura’s workflow capabilities and enterprise relationships while increasing Onside’s geographic scale.
