OPAQUE, a Confidential AI platform positioned as a trust and security layer for enterprise AI, has raised a $24 million Series B round at an approximately $300 million post-money valuation. The financing was led by Walden Catalyst, with participation from returning investors Intel Capital, Race Capital, Storm Ventures, and Thomvest, as well as new investor and strategic partner, the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC). The round brings OPAQUE’s total funding to $55.5 million.
The company is pitching its platform as a way for enterprises to deploy AI agents and workflows on highly sensitive data while addressing concerns around data leakage, privacy, policy enforcement, and auditability. OPAQUE framed these constraints as a major blocker keeping AI initiatives stuck in pilots, as security, compliance, and legal teams pause deployments until controls can be verified rather than assumed.
OPAQUE said it is accelerating the delivery of its Confidential AI platform, which it describes as a secure, auditable infrastructure designed to provide verifiable proof of data privacy, model integrity, and policy enforcement before, during, and after runtime. The company also said it is expanding into post-quantum security, confidential AI training, and sovereign cloud environments to support broader enterprise and regulated-workload adoption.
The announcement also highlighted the recent launch of OPAQUE Studio, described by the company as a development environment for building and deploying Confidential AI agents with runtime-verifiable privacy, policy compliance, and auditability.
OPAQUE said it was born from UC Berkeley’s RISELab and positions its technology as extending traditional data governance by adding cryptographic, runtime verification across AI workflows. The company cited customers and partners, including ServiceNow, Anthropic, Encore Capital, and Accenture, as well as organizations across high-tech, financial services, insurance, and healthcare.
KEY QUOTES
“Enterprises will continue to struggle to bring AI into production until they have verifiable guarantees that their most sensitive data and models are protected. OPAQUE solves this problem and has pioneered a platform built for verifiable privacy, policy enforcement, and model integrity, capabilities that are quickly becoming non-negotiable. We’re proud to continue to support this round and OPAQUE as they enable trusted, enterprise-grade AI adoption.”
Young Sohn, Founding Managing Partner, Walden Catalyst; Board Member, Samsung, Arm And Cadence
“The real barrier to enterprise AI is trust. AI won’t scale unless organizations can verify, not just assume, that their data and models are protected. Confidential AI closes the trust gap by delivering runtime proof that data stayed private during computation, model weights were never exposed, and policies were enforced exactly as written. We’re accelerating the shift to a confidential-first infrastructure so every enterprise can turn sensitive data from a liability into a competitive advantage.”
Aaron Fulkerson, CEO, OPAQUE
“There is no such thing as sovereign AI without verifiable guarantees on how data, models, and policies are protected and governed. OPAQUE provides the confidential and cryptographically verifiable foundation that empowers our combined technologies to operate AI systems with true sovereignty. This is why we’re excited to be both an investor and a partner, given our shared commitment to advancing Confidential AI innovation.”
