Open Road Resorts announced that it has acquired Raccoon Mountain Campground and Caverns, an outdoor destination located near downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The acquisition marks Open Road Resorts’ entry into Tennessee and adds one of the region’s distinctive campground and outdoor attraction properties to the company’s portfolio.
Raccoon Mountain Campground and Caverns combines RV sites, cabins, tent camping, family-friendly amenities, and access to Raccoon Mountain Caverns. The cave system includes more than 5.5 miles of explored passageways.
The property is located in one of the Southeast’s popular outdoor recreation markets and offers access to Chattanooga attractions including downtown Chattanooga, Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls, Rock City, the Tennessee Aquarium, and nearby hiking, biking, climbing, and paddling destinations.
Raccoon Mountain Campground and Caverns serves RVers, cabin guests, tent campers, families, couples, and road trippers seeking outdoor access while staying close to Chattanooga. Its amenities include RV sites, cabins, tent sites, Wi-Fi, a dog park, pool, playground, hiking trails, propane, and guided cavern experiences.
Open Road Resorts said it plans to preserve the property’s existing character while investing in the guest experience, campground amenities, infrastructure, and cavern-related visitor experiences.
The acquisition supports Open Road Resorts’ strategy of building a connected network of clean, safe, family-friendly, and amenitized outdoor destinations in desirable travel markets across the United States.
Founded in 2019 by Chase Becker and Jim Omstrom, Open Road Resorts owns and operates RV parks and campgrounds across the United States. The company currently owns and operates nine RV parks across seven states, with additional acquisitions in the pipeline and a new greenfield development underway in the Dallas market.
