OpenAI announced that it is raising $110 billion in new investment at a $730 billion pre-money valuation to accelerate its mission of bringing advanced artificial intelligence to consumers, developers, and enterprises worldwide. The company said the funding includes commitments from SoftBank, NVIDIA, and Amazon, alongside additional financial investors expected to join as the round progresses.
Alongside the financing, OpenAI highlighted expanded strategic partnerships, including deepened collaboration with Amazon and next-generation inference compute support from NVIDIA, as central to strengthening its global infrastructure and product capabilities.
The company said the investment will help it meet surging demand for AI across consumers, developers, and businesses while scaling the compute, distribution, and capital required to support widespread adoption. OpenAI characterized the announcement as marking a new phase in which frontier AI transitions from research into daily use at a global scale.
KEY QUOTE:
“AI demand is surging across consumers, developers, and businesses. Meeting that demand and providing everyone access to our products requires three things: compute, distribution, and capital. We are entering a new phase where frontier AI moves from research into daily use at global scale. Leadership will be defined by who can scale infrastructure fast enough to meet demand, and turn that capacity into products people rely on.”
