OpenClaw Launches iOS And Android Apps For Agentic AI Assistants

OpenClaw announced the release of standalone apps for iOS and Android, bringing its agentic AI assistant to the App Store and Google Play.

With the new mobile apps, users can chat with the OpenClaw assistant directly from their smartphones. They can also grant the assistant access to different parts of the device, including the camera, screen, location, photos, contacts, calendar, and reminders.

The launch marks a broader step for agentic AI tools on mobile devices. Instead of relying on third-party messaging apps to communicate with AI agents, users can now access OpenClaw through dedicated native apps.

OpenClaw has quickly grown from a smaller open-source project into a more visible player in the AI ecosystem. The project is currently being run by the OpenClaw Foundation following founder Peter Steinberger’s move to OpenAI earlier this year. The apps are being published by the OpenClaw Foundation.

The mobile launch is notable because agentic AI tools have faced challenges on iOS due to Apple’s stricter app review process and broader security concerns around tools that can act across apps or device functions. Before this release, some iOS users relied on chat apps such as Telegram or WhatsApp to interact with their AI agents.

By releasing dedicated mobile apps, OpenClaw is positioning itself as a more accessible agentic AI platform for everyday smartphone users. The apps could make it easier for users to give AI agents contextual access to mobile workflows, including scheduling, reminders, photos, and on-device information.

The release also signals that agentic AI products are moving beyond desktop and developer-focused environments into consumer mobile experiences. As more AI assistants gain access to device-level tools, companies will likely face greater scrutiny around privacy, permissions, and user control.
