Michelle Jacobi has joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. as a managing director in the firm’s Global Fund Placement & Advisory Group, strengthening the investment bank’s private markets advisory and fundraising capabilities for alternative asset managers.
Jacobi, who will be based in New York, brings more than 15 years of experience working with private markets sponsors across private equity fundraising, GP seeding and stakes, and leveraged finance. She will report to Charles Buisseret and Tanya McHale, co-heads of Oppenheimer’s Global Fund Placement & Advisory Group.
In her new role, Jacobi will advise alternative investment managers on fundraising and broader strategic priorities, while expanding the group’s U.S. distribution reach across institutional limited partners. Oppenheimer said her background in emerging manager seeding and GP solutions is expected to deepen relationships with both emerging and established private equity firms as the group continues to grow its client base in the U.S. and internationally.
Most recently, Jacobi served as a managing director at Gatewood Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on seeding and staking emerging alternative asset managers. Earlier in her career, she held roles at Cebile Capital, VCP Advisors, and Jefferies Finance.
Oppenheimer’s Global Fund Placement & Advisory Group launched in 2022 and has since doubled in size, building a global client roster of private equity firms. The team is based in New York, Los Angeles, and London and works alongside Oppenheimer’s broader investment banking and asset management platforms.
