OPSWAT has appointed Bill Carey as chief financial officer, bringing on a veteran technology finance leader with public company and IPO experience to lead financial strategy and governance as the company expands its cybersecurity offerings for critical infrastructure protection.
Carey succeeds Simon Ho, who has served as CFO since February 2020 and will retire while remaining available in an advisory capacity. OPSWAT said Ho helped build out an end-to-end financial foundation spanning financial planning and analysis, revenue operations, tax, and core financial operations to support the company’s global growth.
Before joining OPSWAT, Carey served as interim CFO and chief accounting officer at Couchbase, where he helped guide financial reporting, compliance, and governance processes tied to the company’s 2021 initial public offering. OPSWAT described Carey as a technology finance executive with experience supporting rapid growth and transformation, aligning his background with the company’s next phase of scaling.
Carey earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from North Carolina State University. OPSWAT said the leadership transition supports its continued evolution of an end-to-end platform spanning IT, OT, and ICS cybersecurity, anchored by its “Trust no file. Trust no device.™” philosophy.
