OptConnect, a provider of managed wireless connectivity solutions, has acquired Canada-based DPL Wireless to expand its engineering capabilities and bring more device-level intelligence to IoT deployments, particularly in ATM connectivity and adjacent use cases.

The deal combines OptConnect’s global managed cellular IoT connectivity with DPL’s device-intelligence and analytics capabilities, which the company says are powered by its Hercules AI platform. OptConnect said the combined offering is designed to improve uptime and reliability for customers that rely on always-on connectivity in the field.

OptConnect also said the acquisition strengthens product development capacity and operational scale by consolidating inventory and logistics capabilities across the two organizations. The company plans to integrate intelligence from OptConnect’s ConnectIQ platform with DPL’s Hercules AI, while adding infrastructure to support DPL’s Hercules AI product roadmap.

DPL will continue operating as “DPL Wireless, a division of OptConnect,” maintaining its headquarters in Moncton, New Brunswick, along with a satellite office in Rothesay, New Brunswick. Marc Albert will remain with the business as managing director of the DPL unit.

The acquisition follows OptConnect’s prior deals for Premier Wireless Solutions, M2M DataGlobal, and Capestone, which the company said collectively support a broader global platform for managed wireless connectivity across industries and deployment types. Financial terms were not disclosed.
