Oraseya Capital announced that the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority has expanded the venture capital fund from AED 500 million to AED 1 billion.
The expansion marks the start of Phase II for Oraseya Capital and significantly increases the capital available to support startups across multiple stages of development.
Oraseya Capital will continue investing from the pre-seed stage while increasing its ability to back companies through later growth stages.
The fund is also expanding its international investment mandate.
Oraseya Capital said the broader mandate is intended to deepen its connections with startup ecosystems outside the UAE while strengthening Dubai’s position as a global venture capital hub.
The fund operates under the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, which is chaired by H.H. Sheik Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
Phase II is being advanced under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ.
Oraseya Capital said the larger fund will allow it to provide more support to founders as portfolio companies mature and demand for growth capital increases.
The expansion comes less than three years after Oraseya Capital’s launch.
During that period, the fund has built a portfolio of 66 active companies.
The increase from AED 500 million to AED 1 billion effectively doubles the size of the fund and gives Oraseya Capital greater flexibility to support companies over longer portions of their growth journeys.
The international expansion is also expected to broaden the fund’s access to startup opportunities and strengthen relationships with founders, investors, and technology ecosystems globally.
Oraseya Capital said it expects additional updates on the expanded fund and Phase II to follow.
