Orion Expands Integration With DPL Financial Partners To Embed Commission-Free Annuities In Orion Connect

Orion and DPL Financial Partners announced an expanded integration that embeds DPL’s annuity comparison and analysis tools directly into Orion Connect, the company’s flagship advisor platform. The move gives financial advisors seamless, in-platform access to commission-free annuities and insurance solutions designed to improve client outcomes and support organic growth.

The integration launches with three of DPL’s annuity tools built into Orion Connect, enabling advisors to evaluate income strategies, identify held-away assets, and implement retirement solutions without leaving their core workflow. Historically, annuities have existed outside traditional advisor systems, requiring separate platforms, manual paperwork, and fragmented processes. By embedding DPL’s tools and marketplace within Orion Connect, advisors can now access fee-based products from leading carriers and manage them alongside portfolio construction, financial planning, and client relationship management activities.

Among the capabilities now available are an Annuity Comparison Calculator that evaluates existing client annuities against low-cost, commission-free alternatives aligned to retirement income, principal protection, or growth objectives; a Guaranteed Income Analysis tool that models predictable retirement outcomes directly within a financial plan; and a Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuities marketplace that allows advisors to compare and apply for commission-free MYGAs. The tools are powered by DPL’s rules-based engine and extensive product database, generating recommendations aligned with client goals and supporting digital application workflows.

DPL also provides support from insurance-licensed agents, meaning investment advisor representatives do not need to hold licenses or FINRA registration to incorporate annuities into client financial plans.

The announcement builds on the companies’ existing partnership, which previously enabled annuity data integration and platform connectivity between Orion and DPL. The expanded integration deepens that relationship by placing advanced annuity capabilities directly within the system advisors already use to manage portfolios and financial plans.

DPL currently administers more than $5.8 billion in assets across 8,500 RIA firms serving more than 19,000 advisors. Orion services $5.8 trillion in assets under administration and $133 billion of wealth management platform assets as of December 31, 2025, supporting over 8 million technology accounts. According to Barron’s 2025 Top 100 RIA Firms ranking, 17 of the top 20 firms rely on Orion’s technology platform.
