Orion has launched a digital account-opening system within its Advisor Portal, with Goldman Sachs Custody Solutions becoming the first custodian integrated with the new experience.
The Dynamic New Account Opening tool allows advisors to open accounts with Goldman Sachs Custody Solutions without leaving Orion’s platform.
The integration is available to Orion Advisor Technology customers using Goldman Sachs for custody. Orion Portfolio Solutions customers are expected to receive access later in the summer, with additional custodians planned before the end of 2026.
The workflow automatically adjusts based on account type, household structure and custodian requirements.
It centralizes information to reduce duplicate data entry and provides a choice between DocuSign electronic signatures and a fully digital completion process.
Direct connections with custodian application programming interfaces allow account information to be transmitted and processed in real time.
Orion and Goldman Sachs developed the workflow through two hackathons held during 2025. The companies used AI to automate portions of the onboarding process and reduce administrative friction for advisors.
Goldman Sachs Custody Solutions also provides custody for Orion OCIO, Custom Indexing and Portfolio Solutions customers. Goldman Sachs Asset Management offers a fixed-income separately managed account strategy through Orion’s platform.
As of June 30, 2026, Orion supported approximately $6.6 trillion in assets under administration and $211 billion in wealth management assets. Its technology serves more than 8.6 million accounts.
