Orrick has appointed Chris Davis as Chief Financial Officer, adding an executive with senior financial and operational experience at Paul Hastings, Goodwin, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Perella Weinberg Partners.
Davis most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Paul Hastings and previously held the CFO position at the firm. He led a global organization responsible for finance, administration, operations and real estate.
Before joining Paul Hastings, Davis served as CFO at Goodwin and held senior finance roles at Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Perella Weinberg Partners.
He will be based in New York and joins Orrick at a time when large law firms are investing more heavily in technology, data, operational infrastructure and new methods of delivering legal services.
Davis succeeds David Fries, a former Orrick partner who returned to the firm more than 15 years ago and has helped oversee financial performance and growth.
Fries plans to retire in early 2027 and will continue serving as an adviser to Orrick afterward, providing continuity during the CFO transition.
