Orrick has appointed Padma Elmgart as Chief Technology Officer as the global law firm expands its use of artificial intelligence, data and digital technology across client services and internal operations.
Elmgart, most recently CTO and a member of the Management Committee at KKR’s Global Atlantic Financial Group, will join Orrick on September 21 and be based in New York.
She will lead Orrick’s global technology organization and strategy and work with Chief Innovation Officer Wendy Curtis and other leaders to advance digital transformation and use AI, data and technology to create additional value for clients.
Elmgart brings more than two decades of financial services experience, including extensive work in capital markets.
During six years at Global Atlantic, she led enterprise transformation and modernization programs intended to improve growth, scalability and operational performance.
She previously spent eight years at Deutsche Bank in senior CIO and technology leadership positions. Earlier roles included senior technology and business positions at Barclays Capital, J.P. Morgan and Citigroup across New York, London and Frankfurt.
Elmgart also serves on the Board of Directors of HSBC North America and is Vice Chair of workforce-development nonprofit StreetWise Partners.
