ORS Nasco has acquired Techniweld & PowerWeld along with the Boardwalk, GEN, and Windsoft proprietary brands from Essendant, expanding its welding business across North America and broadening its janitorial and facility supplies portfolio.
ORS is a wholesaler of industrial maintenance, repair, and operations products and a portfolio company of Wynnchurch Capital. Essendant is backed by Sycamore Partners. Financial terms of the transactions were not provided.
Techniweld is a Canadian wholesaler of welding products that supplies distributors with gas and arc welding equipment, filler metals, safety products, and related accessories. The business also operates in the U.S. under the PowerWeld brand.
The acquisition represents another expansion of ORS’s welding platform following its acquisition of Alliance Distribution earlier in 2026 and Techniweld USA in 2025. Together, the transactions are building out ORS’s presence across the North American welding distribution market.
ORS is also acquiring three established Essendant brands. Boardwalk offers janitorial and sanitation, industrial, and foodservice products, while GEN provides value-oriented products for restaurants, airports, shopping centers, and other high-volume facilities. Windsoft specializes in towel and tissue products.
The three brands expand ORS’s assortment across janitorial, sanitation, paper, foodservice, and facility supply categories, giving its distributor customers access to a broader range of products through a single wholesale provider.
The Essendant transaction also reconnects ORS with its former parent company. ORS was previously owned by Essendant before being carved out in 2019, making the latest acquisition another corporate carve-out completed by ORS and Wynnchurch.
ORS Nasco serves customers across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East with approximately 190,000 SKUs sourced from more than 250 original equipment manufacturers. The company operates 13 distribution locations and supplies distributors across a range of industrial end markets.
