Orthopaedic Specialty Group and OrthoConnecticut announced a merger that will create a physician-led musculoskeletal care platform serving patients across Connecticut. The partnership is designed to expand access to orthopedic care, strengthen clinical collaboration, and improve operational capabilities statewide.

The combined organization will integrate the subspecialty expertise, orthopedic care services, rehabilitation capabilities, and patient care infrastructure of both groups while maintaining a physician-led operating model. According to the companies, the merger is intended to improve access to specialized musculoskeletal care closer to patients’ homes while supporting long-term clinical and operational growth.

Orthopaedic Specialty Group and OrthoConnecticut also announced a partnership with Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company, commonly known as HOPCo, to support value-based care initiatives and clinical transformation efforts. Through the partnership, the combined organization will gain access to analytics tools, digital patient engagement systems, care management technology, and value-based care infrastructure designed to improve outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.

Orthopaedic Specialty Group has operated in Southern Connecticut for more than 60 years and provides surgical and nonsurgical orthopedic care, rehabilitation, and pain management services. OrthoConnecticut is a multi-specialty orthopedic and pain management platform formed through the combination of Coastal Orthopedics, Danbury Orthopedics, New Milford Orthopedics, and Connecticut Pain Care, with offices throughout Connecticut.

The companies said the partnership becomes effective immediately, with operational integration planned through a phased process over the coming months. Patients will continue working with their existing physicians and care teams during the transition.

Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company said its platform supports physician groups, health systems, payors, and suppliers through value-based care programs, outcomes management, and care transformation initiatives focused on musculoskeletal medicine.
