Osaic announced financial advisors Michael Murray and Brian Fruend have launched a new independent firm, F & M Investment Partners, through Osaic. The Missouri-based practice is headquartered in the greater St. Louis area and oversees approximately $232 million in client assets, according to the company.

Osaic described Murray and Fruend as bringing more than 60 years of combined experience advising individuals and families on financial planning and key life milestones. The advisors selected Osaic as their wealth management partner in an effort to pair a more independent operating model with access to broader resources and operational support.

The firm will use Osaic’s open-architecture platform and wealth management capabilities, which Osaic said are designed to help advisors spend more time with clients while scaling their practices. Osaic also positioned the launch as part of a broader trend of advisors joining the platform to establish independent wealth management firms, citing other recent additions.

Osaic said it supports more than 10,000 financial professionals and is a portfolio company of Reverence Capital Partners.
