Oura announced the launch of the Oura Ring 5, describing it as the world’s smallest smart ring and the company’s most advanced wearable to date. Introduced on May 28, 2026, the new device combines a significantly smaller form factor with redesigned sensors, enhanced accuracy, and new software experiences aimed at providing more predictive health insights.
Built on more than 13 years of development, Oura Ring 5 is 40% smaller than the previous generation, measuring 6.09 mm wide and 2.28 mm thick. The company said it completely re-engineered the device from the ground up rather than simply shrinking the Oura Ring 4.
The new ring features a redesigned sensing architecture with low-profile sensor domes for improved skin contact and more consistent readings. Oura said the device includes 12 signal pathways designed to improve accuracy across different finger types and skin tones. The company also noted that the ring delivers a pulse signal up to 100 times stronger than wrist-based wearables.
Oura Ring 5 is crafted from scratch-resistant titanium and is available in six finishes: Gold, Deep Rose, Brushed Silver, Stealth, Black, and Silver. The ring is waterproof up to 100 meters (IP68) and is designed for daily activities including sports, swimming, and sleep tracking.
Despite its smaller size, Oura said the device delivers between six and nine days of battery life. The company also introduced a separate Oura Ring 5 Charging Case, which can extend battery life on the go and provide up to one month of power before needing to be recharged.
Alongside the hardware launch, Oura unveiled a range of new software experiences, including Health Radar, AI-enabled medical guidance developed in partnership with Counsel Health, GLP-1 Insights, and other predictive health tools. These software features will be available to Oura Members using Oura Ring Gen3 and newer devices.
The Oura Ring 5 starts at $399 for Silver and Black finishes, while premium finishes are priced at $499.
