OuterSignal has raised $22 million in Series A funding to expand its agentic customer intelligence platform, which helps consumer brands understand individual customers and use that information to personalize marketing, advertising, merchandising, and customer engagement. The round was co-led by Long Journey Ventures and Abstract Ventures.
Additional investors included BAM Ventures, Top Shelf Ventures, SuperAngel.Fund, and Jerry Yang’s AME Cloud Ventures. The round also included a broad group of angel investors and executives from companies using OuterSignal’s platform.
The financing follows OuterSignal’s January 2026 launch and rapid adoption among consumer companies. The New York-based company said its technology now supports thousands of consumer businesses and hundreds of millions of orders.
OuterSignal’s platform is designed to help brands build a more detailed understanding of the individuals purchasing their products. It connects with a company’s commerce platform or CRM and combines customer information with public context to construct profiles that can then be used by AI agents to personalize interactions.
The company is targeting a common challenge in consumer marketing: customers with very different interests, lifestyles, and purchasing behavior often receive the same emails, product recommendations, advertisements, and website experiences. OuterSignal aims to replace those broad customer segments with person-level intelligence and individualized experiences.
Its technology can be used across several business functions. Influencer and partnership teams can receive alerts when notable customers purchase products, while lifecycle marketing teams can build audiences based on customer personas and generate tailored campaigns.
Acquisition teams can create more precise audience segments for advertising platforms, while product and merchandising teams can analyze the types of customers purchasing specific products and categories. OuterSignal said customers have reported improvements across retention, customer acquisition, conversion, and influencer marketing.
Brands using the platform include AG1, HexClad, Jones Road Beauty, True Classic, Jomashop, Lucy, Gratsi, and Magic Mind, along with thousands of other consumer businesses.
One use case involves helping brands identify existing customers who are also creators or influencers. HexClad said OuterSignal uncovered a significant number of creators who already purchased and used its products, allowing the cookware company to develop influencer relationships with people who were already familiar with the brand.
AG1 similarly said the platform has helped it identify differences among customer groups, improve messaging and targeting, and discover creators ranging from micro-influencers to larger names who were already part of its customer community.
OuterSignal plans to use the Series A funding to expand its research engine and build technology capable of generating individualized versions of messages for each customer. The company will also expand its workforce across engineering, go-to-market, operations, and customer experience.
The company’s broader vision is to use generative AI and autonomous agents to shift consumer personalization from relatively broad audience segmentation toward 1:1 personalization across potentially billions of customer touchpoints.
OuterSignal was founded around the idea that increasingly capable generative AI systems can create individualized customer experiences at scale, provided brands have enough intelligence about the person receiving each interaction.
