Outline Raises $3 Million Pre-Seed To Build AI-Powered Financial Planning Platform

Outline has emerged from stealth with $3 million in pre-seed funding to develop software designed to help chief financial officers and finance teams modernize financial planning.

The financing was backed by Founders Future, 1001N and NewSchool.vc, along with angel investors.

Outline is building a financial planning platform around the premise that while AI and software are transforming functions across companies, finance organizations still frequently rely on older and fragmented tools.

The company plans to connect data from systems including accounting, billing, payroll and spreadsheets, giving finance teams a centralized foundation from which to build financial models.

Outline’s product is designed to allow finance teams to define their own metrics, logic and business definitions and then use those models to simulate business scenarios.

The company is positioning AI as an augmentation layer for finance teams, with the aim of making financial planning faster while maintaining the underlying models and assumptions required by CFOs.

Outline said it has already onboarded 10 CFOs, including executives from Zelty, Shares and HarfangLab, and plans to onboard another 10 during September.

The pre-seed financing will support the company’s initial development as it moves beyond stealth and expands early adoption of its platform.

Aukera Closes €460 Million Structured Credit Facility Led By EIG

Aukera has closed a €460 million structured credit facility led by EIG to support development of its renewable energy, battery storage and broader energy infrastructure portfolio across Europe.

Aukera is backed by AtlasInvest, Reggeborgh and SFPIM, Belgium’s sovereign wealth fund.

The financing expands an earlier facility that included an initial €200 million commitment and an accordion feature of up to €250 million.

The amended structure converts the accordion into a firmly committed €260 million Series 2 tranche, increasing total committed capital to €460 million.

Aukera plans to use the additional capital to advance renewable power generation, battery storage and energy infrastructure projects across its five European markets: Belgium, the U.K., Germany, Romania and Italy.

The company currently has nearly 1 GW of projects in construction or operation and a development pipeline of approximately 14 GW across Europe.

Aukera was founded in 2021 by Pascal Emsens and Catalin Breaban and is headquartered in Brussels.

Its strategy centers on developing, financing, constructing and operating battery energy storage and renewable energy infrastructure at scale across multiple European markets.

The company believes Europe will require significantly more battery storage to support changes in power generation and demand.

Aukera cited an EU target of 200 GW of battery storage capacity by 2030 and believes current European capacity would need to at least quadruple to reach that level.

EIG manages $27.1 billion in assets as of June 30, 2026, and specializes in private investments in global energy and energy-related infrastructure.

During its 44-year history, the firm has committed more than $55 billion across over 425 projects or companies in 44 countries.

Nomura Greentech served as issuer financial adviser. A&O Shearman advised the issuer legally, while White & Case served as investor legal counsel.

Watson Farley & Williams provided legal due diligence, RINA Consulting handled technical due diligence, Forvis Mazars provided model, financial and tax work, and Aurora Energy Research provided market due diligence.

KEY QUOTES:

“We believe Europe needs to at least quadruple its battery storage capacity to reach the EU’s 200 GW target by 2030. That requires not just capital, but teams and platforms that can deliver complex infrastructure repeatedly, on time, on budget and across multiple markets.

This facility with EIG gives Aukera the financial depth to do exactly that. With close to 1 GW in construction or operation today, a 14 GW pipeline, and a team with deep expertise across development, financing, delivery, revenue optimisation and sophisticated asset management, we expect Aukera to emerge as one of Europe’s established battery storage and renewable energy platforms. We are well positioned to continue building the infrastructure that supports Europe’s evolving energy system.”

Catalin Breaban and Pascal Emsens, Co-Founders of Aukera

“We are pleased to expand our relationship with Aukera through this significantly upsized facility. Aukera has built a diversified portfolio across several European markets, supported by an experienced team with capabilities spanning project development, financing, construction and operations. This transaction reflects EIG’s confidence in the Aukera team and strategy, as well as our focus on providing flexible capital solutions to established energy infrastructure platforms.”
