Owkin has entered into an agreement with Servier to license K Pro, its AI Scientist platform, together with multimodal patient data to support Servier’s oncology research and accelerate the study of hard-to-treat cancers.
Under the agreement, Servier’s research teams will gain access to multimodal patient data from Owkin’s MOSAIC network for analysis within K Pro.
The collaboration expands an existing relationship between Owkin and Servier. The companies previously worked together on patient subgroup identification in oncology, and the latest agreement extends that work into a broader AI-powered research environment.
Owkin describes K Pro as an AI scientist designed for pharmaceutical research and strategic decision-making. The platform combines multimodal patient data with specialized biological agentic AI to support decision-making across multiple stages of drug discovery and development.
K Pro is designed to help pharmaceutical researchers conduct molecule optimization, target discovery, biomarker identification, subgroup optimization and clinical trial design.
The platform incorporates specialized biological tools developed using Owkin’s experience across pharmaceutical partnerships and AI research. Owkin said K Pro has been trained and validated using real-world patient data and through the company’s wet lab capabilities.
By combining AI tools with multimodal patient information, the platform is intended to help researchers investigate complex biological questions more efficiently and generate hypotheses that can be tested throughout drug development.
For Servier, the partnership gives its scientists a single environment to access patient data and use AI to investigate disease biology.
The companies expect the combination of patient-level data and AI-driven analysis to help Servier’s researchers evaluate biological mechanisms and potential treatment strategies across its oncology pipeline.
The agreement also reflects the increasing use of agentic AI in pharmaceutical research, where AI systems are being designed not only to analyze data but also to assist researchers across interconnected scientific workflows.
Owkin is developing its broader technology strategy around what it describes as Biological Artificial Superintelligence, with the goal of applying AI to biological problems that are difficult to solve through traditional research methods alone.
K Pro serves as a core part of that strategy by orchestrating AI skills, biological tools, and multimodal patient data within a unified research platform.
