Joint Interagency Task Force 401 has awarded OWT Global a Joint Counter-small Unmanned Aerial System Mobile Training Team Services contract with an estimated ceiling of $38.2 million.

The contract will support counter-UAS training requirements across the military enterprise.

OWT Global will provide mobile training teams, develop curriculum, deliver instruction and help synchronize counter-small UAS training across the Joint Services.

JIATF-401 said the contract is intended to accelerate its effort to strengthen counter-drone protection for warfighters, military installations, critical infrastructure and people in the U.S. and abroad.

The training will incorporate lessons derived from combat zones while being tailored to the operating environments and requirements of individual warfighters.

The award complements JIATF-401’s broader work to accelerate acquisition and deployment of counter-UAS technologies.

The task force said effective drone defense requires training alongside hardware so operators can safely and effectively employ increasingly sophisticated detection and defeat systems.

The enterprise-wide contracting approach is intended to help standardize and synchronize those capabilities across the Joint Force as unmanned aircraft threats continue evolving.

KEY QUOTE:

“Top-tier technology is essential to provide the warfighter with effective C-UAS capability; however, technology is only part of the solution. Warfighters must receive the training necessary to employ these systems safely and effectively. Working with industry partners helps ensure our warfighters are properly trained to employ C-UAS when and where needed.”
