Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company (PacSci EMC) announced that the Department of War (DoW) has invested $27.3 million in Defense Production Act (DPA) Title III funds to expand the production of the universal Arm Fire Device (AFD), a critical safety component used in solid rocket motor (SRM) applications.

The investment is expected to enable PacSci EMC to scale its production capabilities to support high-volume manufacturing requirements for SRM programs. The funding is also part of several recent DPA Title III investments the DoW has made across the SRM supply chain to address capacity shortfalls and reduce manufacturing lead times for key SRM components.

PacSci EMC said the investment will strengthen SRM production capability by modernizing and improving manufacturing processes.

Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company develops energetic systems and components used across military, aerospace, commercial aviation, and energy sector applications. The company said its products support mission-critical operations where reliability and precision are essential.
