Paessler, a provider of IT and OT monitoring software, announced the acquisition of UVnetworks, the company behind UVexplorer and UVexplorer Server. The deal expands Paessler’s reach to more than 30,000 customers and over 500,000 users worldwide.

Paessler said the acquisition strengthens the capabilities of its PRTG monitoring platform by adding automatic network topology mapping, dependency visualization, and configuration change tracking. The combined offering is designed to help organizations improve incident investigations, reduce downtime, and accelerate root cause analysis across IT, OT, IoT, and cloud environments.

According to the company, the addition of UVexplorer enables:

  1. Faster root cause identification through automated Layer 2, Layer 3, and port-level network topology mapping.
  2. Improved visibility into dependencies and operational impact across environments.
  3. Continuous tracking of network changes with configuration backup and comparison tools.
  4. Reduced operational complexity by combining monitoring and network context into a unified operational view.

Paessler noted that the combined platform also creates a foundation for future AI-assisted root cause analysis and automated remediation workflows by incorporating deeper network context into monitoring operations.

UVexplorer is now available for Paessler PRTG customers, while UVexplorer Server will continue serving organizations with large-scale and distributed environments requiring broader network coverage.

KEY QUOTES:

“Modern infrastructure is increasingly distributed, interconnected, and difficult to troubleshoot. Bringing UVexplorer into PRTG adds critical topology, dependency, and change intelligence directly into the monitoring workflows teams already rely on. With PRTG and UVexplorer, Paessler is building a more context-aware foundation for the next generation of AI-assisted monitoring and incident response.”

Jason Teichman, CEO, Paessler

“Monitoring tells teams that something is wrong. Topology helps them understand why. Bringing these capabilities together inside PRTG gives customers a single operational view of their environment and significantly accelerates incident investigation and response.”
