Broken String Biosciences - a genomics company building a technology platform to drive the development of cell and gene therapies that are safer by design - recently announced that it has closed a $15 million Series A investment round, co-led by Illumina Ventures and Mérieux Equity Partners, with contributions from HERAN Partners, and existing investors Tencent and Dieter von Holtzbrinck Ventures (DvH Ventures).

Mojave Energy Systems recently announced a $12.5 million seed round of funding that will be used to launch its third-generation liquid desiccant air conditioning platform. This funding round was co-led by At One Ventures and Fifth Wall, with participation from Xerox Ventures and others. And the company spun out of the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC).

Hub International Limited - a leading global insurance brokerage - recently announced that it has successfully completed a substantial minority investment from Leonard Green & Partners, L.P. (LGP) along with several other prominent institutional minority investors. This planned investment from LGP (a Los Angeles-based private equity firm) was announced in April of this year.
