Palantir Technologies has named Peter Zaffino as Global Head of Financial Services, effective January 15, 2027, bringing the former AIG CEO and Executive Chairman into a senior operating role focused on expanding the company’s financial services business.
Zaffino will be responsible for driving growth and transformation across Palantir’s work with insurance companies, banks, asset managers, private equity firms and other financial institutions.
He brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in global financial services and insurance and has served as chief executive across three organizations.
The appointment deepens Palantir’s focus on deploying its software and AI capabilities within financial institutions, a market the company has served for nearly two decades.
Palantir said its work across banking, insurance and capital markets focuses on placing data-driven decision-making tools directly in the hands of operators.
Zaffino’s appointment also brings an executive with firsthand experience leading a large financial institution through operational and technology transformation.
