PaperTech, a Findlay, Ohio-based manufacturer of pressed paperboard products serving the food packaging and foodservice markets, has completed its acquisition of Bake-Best Trays, a Redmond, Oregon-based manufacturer of pressed paperboard trays.
The deal adds Bake-Best’s ovenable pressed paperboard tray formats to PaperTech’s portfolio, including performance-oriented design features and microwave active susceptor solutions intended to improve browning and crisping. Founded in 2007, Bake-Best has served a range of foodservice end markets, including processors, supermarkets, regional restaurant chains, and schools.
PaperTech said the acquisition deepens and broadens its pressed paperboard tray platform, expanding the combined product lineup available to food processors, distributors, and foodservice operators. The company also positioned the combined offering as an economical, more sustainable alternative to CPET and polypropylene packaging, supported by added cooking-performance technologies and complementary tray products.
Paul Hastings served as legal advisor to PaperTech, and Steven M. Berne served as legal advisor to Bake-Best.
