Park Aerospace reported higher sales and sharply improved earnings for its fiscal 2027 second quarter ended August 30, 2026.
Net sales reached $20.8 million, up from $16.4 million in the prior-year quarter and $18.3 million in the immediately preceding quarter.
For the first six months of fiscal 2027, net sales increased to $39.1 million from $31.8 million during the comparable period a year earlier.
Net earnings for the quarter rose to $4.5 million from $2.4 million a year earlier and $3.5 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2027.
For the first six months of the fiscal year, net earnings totaled $8.1 million, compared with $4.5 million in the same period last year.
Adjusted EBITDA also improved significantly.
Second-quarter adjusted EBITDA increased to $5.3 million from $3.4 million in the prior-year quarter and $4.6 million in the previous quarter.
For the first six months, adjusted EBITDA reached $9.9 million, compared with $6.4 million a year earlier.
Basic and diluted earnings per share were both $0.21 for the second quarter, compared with $0.12 in the prior-year period and $0.17 in the first quarter.
For the first half of fiscal 2027, basic earnings per share increased to $0.38 from $0.23, while diluted earnings per share rose to $0.37 from $0.22.
Park also delivered stronger profitability metrics during the quarter.
Gross profit increased to $7.1 million from $5.1 million a year earlier, while gross margin expanded to 34.3% from 31.2%.
Selling, general and administrative expenses represented 11.6% of sales, improving from 13.9% in the prior-year period.
Earnings from operations increased to $4.7 million from $2.8 million, while net earnings represented 21.8% of net sales compared with 14.7% a year earlier.
Park ended the quarter with $114.7 million in cash and marketable securities, up from $89.4 million at the beginning of the fiscal year.
Total assets increased to $175.1 million from $142.2 million, while shareholders’ equity rose to $162.7 million from $130 million.
Equity per share increased to $7.39 from $6.22.
Park Aerospace develops and manufactures advanced composite materials used across global aerospace markets.
Its products are used in applications including jet engines, commercial aircraft, military aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, business jets, rotary-wing aircraft, rocket motors, radomes, and spacecraft.
The company also manufactures composite parts, structures, assemblies, and tooling, including its proprietary SigmaStrut and AlphaStrut product lines.
