Parle Biscuits has appointed former PepsiCo executive George Kovoor as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026, as the company strengthens its leadership team for its next phase of growth, according to CNBC-TV18.
Kovoor becomes the first CEO of the privately held company, which owns some of India’s best-known biscuit and confectionery brands, including Parle-G, Monaco, Krackjack, Hide & Seek and Melody.
He brings more than three decades of experience at PepsiCo, where he held leadership positions spanning consumer businesses and multiple international markets.
Kovoor’s PepsiCo career included assignments across India, China, the Asia-Pacific region and the United States. He also worked from PepsiCo’s global headquarters in New York, where he led international and global foodservice operations, before returning to India as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s India beverages business.
Before joining PepsiCo, Kovoor began his career with Brooke Bond India. Following his retirement from PepsiCo in March 2025, he founded Ask GeKo Advisors, an independent leadership and strategic advisory firm.
His appointment brings additional global consumer-products leadership experience to Parle as the company responds to changing consumer preferences and increasing competition across India’s packaged food market.
Parle’s scale provides Kovoor with a significant platform for growth. The company hxas a distribution network reaching more than 7.5 million retail outlets across India and has expanded internationally, including into markets across Asia and Africa.
Parle-G remains one of the company’s flagship brands and is among the world’s largest-selling biscuit brands by volume.
Parle Managing Director Ajay Chauhan said Kovoor’s ability to drive results, develop talent and operate across complex markets should support the company’s efforts to strengthen its capabilities and identify new opportunities for sustainable growth.
