By Amit Chowdhry ● Yesterday at 8:30 AM

Parseur is a document-processing platform that automatically extracts structured data from emails, PDFs, and other documents. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Parseur co-founder and CTO Sylvain Josserand to gain a deeper understanding of the company.

Sylvain Josserand’s Background

Could you tell me more about your background? Josserand said:

“I’m a software engineer by training with more than two decades of experience in software development, cloud solutions and product strategy. I’ve always been passionate about building tools that make complex processes simpler through automation.”

“I co-founded Parseur in 2016 to help companies save time and focus on what really matters by automating how they handle data. My role touches many areas, from developing the back-end application to guiding product strategy and setting the overall direction of the company.”

Formation Of The Company

How did the idea for the company come together? Josserand shared:

“Parseur started with a seemingly simple problem. Businesses were spending countless hours copying and pasting data from emails, PDFs and reports into spreadsheets or CRMs. We saw an opportunity to automate those repetitive, low-value tasks so people could focus on higher-impact work.”

“We created Parseur as a tool for setting up an automated processing chain for data. Since then, companies and users from around the world have been able to eliminate thankless manual work and free up time to focus on what drives their business forward.”

Core Products

What are the company’s core products and features? Josserand explained:

“Parseur is a document processing and data extraction platform built for speed and simplicity. It helps businesses automatically pull data from emails, PDFs, attachments and other unstructured documents, then send it directly to apps like Google Sheets, Airtable, HubSpot or custom APIs.”

“The platform features no-code template creation with AI-assisted parsing, real-time data extraction and automatic routing of structured data to hundreds of connected platforms. It also supports advanced document types like invoices, shipping notices, orders and resumes, with built-in integrations for automation tools such as Zapier, Make and Power Automate.”

Challenges Faced

Have you faced any challenges in your sector of work recently? Josserand acknowledged:

“A key challenge has been helping customers understand what kind of automation actually works in real-world use. Many tools rely entirely on black-box AI models, but in document processing, accuracy and control are essential. We believe automation works best when people stay in charge. Our approach combines AI with a human touch. Users can fine-tune templates, see exactly what’s happening and trust the results. That balance keeps Parseur simple, powerful and reliable.”

Evolution Of The Company’s Technology

How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Josserand noted:

“Parseur started as a rule-based email parser and has evolved into a full intelligent document processing platform. Over time, we’ve added AI-assisted template detection, faster data routing and stronger integrations with third-party automation tools. We’ve also made big strides in usability and performance, allowing customers to process thousands of documents per minute while maintaining accuracy.”

Significant Milestones

What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Josserand cited:

“Parseur now serves customers in more than 70 countries. To support our international audience, we’ve translated our website into multiple languages and added capabilities to help users in their preferred languages.”

“We’ve scaled the platform to handle millions of documents each month while staying profitable and bootstrapped, with no external funding. Our customer satisfaction and retention rates remain consistently high, which is one of the achievements we’re most proud of.”

Customer Success Stories

Can you share any specific customer success stories? Josserand highlighted:

“We have customers who are successfully using Parseur across industries such as logistics, e-commerce, healthcare, finance and real estate. Recently, we have seen growing interest and strong results from the real estate sector.”

“One real estate agency in a major U.S. metropolitan area uses Parseur to aggregate property listings in its region. The agency receives alerts for properties listed below market rate in real time, allowing its team to contact sellers quickly and seize the best opportunities.”

Funding/Revenue

Are you able to discuss funding and/or revenue metrics? Josserand revealed:

“Parseur is entirely bootstrapped and profitable. We’ve grown steadily year over year without outside investment. Our focus has always been on sustainable, customer-driven growth.”

Differentiation From The Competition

What differentiates the company from its competition? Josserand affirmed:

“Parseur stands out for its balance of power and simplicity. Many competitors are either too complex and require developers or too limited for large-scale automation. Parseur gives users both: a no-code interface backed by enterprise-grade performance, reliability and security. Because we’re bootstrapped, we focus on product quality and user experience instead of investor returns.”

Future Company Goals

What are some of the company’s future goals? Josserand concluded:

“We are constantly improving our product and adjusting to AI trends to keep at the edge of what’s possible in terms of extraction speed and data quality. We would like to work with larger corporations and are getting positioned to better serve them by getting certified and providing features, such as multi-user and audit capabilities, that cater to larger enterprises.”
