Partners Group has appointed Pete Zippelius as Co-Head of its Private Equity Health & Life vertical, reinforcing leadership across a platform that has invested approximately $13.2 billion in the sector to date. The appointment, announced in an official press release, underscores the firm’s continued focus on scaling its healthcare investment strategy globally.
Zippelius will join in September 2026 and will be based at the firm’s US headquarters. He will co-lead the strategy alongside Benjamin Breier, overseeing origination, underwriting, and execution of new investments, as well as driving value creation initiatives across the Health & Life portfolio. The vertical includes around 40 investment professionals across Europe, the US, and Asia-Pacific and sits within Partners Group’s broader private equity business.
The hire comes as Partners Group continues to expand its presence in healthcare services, life sciences, and medical technology, sectors supported by long-term demographic trends and ongoing innovation. The firm has built a substantial footprint in the space and is positioning itself to capture further growth opportunities through thematic investing.
Zippelius brings more than two decades of experience across private equity and investment banking. Most recently, he served as Investment Partner at Leonard Green & Partners, where he led and managed approximately $8 billion of equity investments in healthcare and life sciences across multiple strategies. During his tenure, he also played a key role in building the firm’s operating structure and expanding into additional fund strategies.
Earlier in his career, Zippelius held senior leadership roles in healthcare investment banking, including Co-Head of North American Healthcare Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan, Co-Head of Healthcare Services Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank, and Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, advising on global transactions across healthcare services, life sciences, and healthcare technology.
The appointment follows a series of senior hires across Partners Group’s private equity business, including leadership additions in technology and goods and products, highlighting the firm’s broader effort to deepen sector expertise and enhance long-term value creation.
Partners Group currently manages more than $185 billion in assets globally across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, royalties, and special opportunities, supported by a global team of around 2,000 professionals.
