This development is based at the firm’s global headquarters in Baar-Zug, Switzerland, where Mehta will work closely with a talented team of professionals.

In his new position, Mehta will collaborate with Manas Tandon, who is also a Partner at Partners Group, to co-lead the Private Equity Goods & Products Vertical. This role is pivotal, as Mehta will be tasked with sourcing new investment opportunities and overseeing various initiatives that aim to create transformational value for portfolio companies. The Goods & Products Vertical comprises experienced investment professionals who are strategically located across Europe, the United States, and the Asia Pacific. This setup positions the team well to capture promising investment opportunities and drive growth.

Mehta comes to Partners Group with over 25 years of industry experience. Before joining the firm, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer at The Timken Company, an established manufacturer known for its bearings and power transmission products based in the United States. His prior experience also includes senior roles at ABB, a prominent global leader in electrification and automation solutions, where he contributed significantly to the organization’s growth. At ABB, Tarak was a long-standing member of the executive committee, where he made his mark by leading both the Motion division and the Electrification Products division, gaining valuable insights into operational excellence.

The decision to appoint Mehta is a clear indication of Partners Group’s active and strategic approach to private markets investing. In recent years, the firm has bolstered its ranks by hiring several senior professionals with substantial industrial backgrounds, which has brought a wealth of operational expertise to the team. Notably, the firm’s leadership includes prominent figures such as Wolf Scheider, who now serves as Head of Private Equity after previously working with ZF Group, a global technology company. Similarly, Benjamin Breier, who is now Co-Head of the Private Equity Health & Life Vertical, joined from Kindred Healthcare, one of the largest providers of healthcare services in the U.S. Sanjay Ravi, who also enhances the team as Managing Director of the Private Equity Technology Vertical, previously worked with Microsoft.

As for the kind of investment the Private Equity Goods & Products Vertical is pursuing, some of its recent acquisitions highlight the firm’s strategic focus. The vertical has successfully acquired MPM Products, a global pet food business that aims to meet the growing demand for quality pet nutrition. The team has also invested in Velvet Care, a prominent European manufacturer of hygiene paper products, and SureWerx, a North American supplier known for its personal protective equipment, safety gear, and tool solutions. This diverse portfolio illustrates Partners Group’s commitment to investing in areas with significant growth potential.

Overall, the firm’s Private Equity business manages assets totaling $83 billion, reflecting its strength in the market and capabilities to drive successful outcomes for its investors. Mehta’s experience and strategic insights are expected to play a crucial role in furthering Partners Group’s mission and ensuring continued growth in the Private Equity sector.
