Paul Hastings has added Jean Park as a partner in its Capital Markets practice in New York and Silicon Valley, continuing the firm’s expansion across equity capital markets, public company advisory and emerging companies and venture capital.
Park joins Paul Hastings from Cooley, where she advised companies, investment banks and investors on a broad range of corporate and capital markets transactions.
Her practice includes initial public offerings, other securities offerings, PIPE transactions, private financings and M&A.
Park also advises late-stage private companies and public companies on general corporate and securities law matters, with a particular focus on the technology and healthcare sectors.
Before joining Cooley, Park was a partner at Simpson Thacher.
Paul Hastings said the addition supports its strategy of expanding its equity capital markets and public company platform, particularly for companies operating across fintech, artificial intelligence, digital health and other innovation-focused industries.
Park’s experience advising companies throughout different stages of growth is expected to complement the firm’s work with late-stage private businesses, IPO candidates and established public companies.
Her arrival also expands Paul Hastings’ ability to advise clients across the full capital structure as companies progress from private financing rounds through public listings and subsequent capital markets transactions.
The firm said its Capital Markets practice ranked No. 4 for U.S. Equity IPOs as Manager Counsel by volume during the first half of 2026 and No. 5 for U.S. Equity Offerings as Manager Counsel by deal count during the same period.
Paul Hastings has also expanded its public company advisory and capital markets client roster by nearly 40% over the past year, from 85 to 118 public companies.
Over the past decade, lawyers across the practice have advised on more than 80 IPOs.
Those transactions include SK Hynix’s $26.5 billion Nasdaq listing in July 2026, which Paul Hastings described as the second-largest IPO in U.S. history.
Park’s appointment also reunites her with former Cooley colleagues David Ambler and Winston Gu at Paul Hastings.
The addition is part of a broader expansion of the firm’s Emerging Companies and Venture Capital practice.
Recent hires have included James Huie and Mike Pestana from Wilson Sonsini in San Francisco, along with lawyers from Goodwin Procter in Boston and New York, including partners Ian Engstrand and Seo Salimi.
Paul Hastings said Park’s combination of capital markets, corporate and industry experience will help the firm pursue additional IPO and public company mandates while strengthening its capabilities serving fast-growing technology and healthcare businesses.
