Paul Hastings Adds Craig Cardon, Abby Meyer And Jay Ramsey To California Complex Litigation Practice

Paul Hastings has expanded its Complex Litigation practice in California with the addition of Craig Cardon, Abby Meyer, and Jay Ramsey, who join the firm from Sheppard Mullin.

The trio brings experience across consumer class actions, mass arbitrations, privacy matters, false advertising disputes, regulatory compliance, and complex commercial litigation. Their arrival strengthens Paul Hastings’ capabilities in Century City and Orange County while adding lawyers who advise major retailers, consumer brands, technology companies, and other large corporate clients.

Cardon represents retailers, brands, advertising technology companies, and technology platforms in class actions, mass arbitrations, governmental investigations, and enforcement proceedings. His practice focuses heavily on matters involving data usage, privacy, and false advertising.

He also advises companies on regulatory compliance and advertising review, including work for major retailers and consumer product manufacturers. Cardon has developed a significant mass arbitration practice representing companies facing coordinated filings involving tens of thousands of claimants. His experience also includes defending Federal Trade Commission advertising enforcement actions through trial and appearing before the National Advertising Division.

Meyer focuses on consumer class action defense for companies in the food, beverage, retail, cosmetics, and broader consumer goods industries. Her practice includes product labeling, advertising, and marketing disputes involving claims such as “natural,” “Made in USA,” sustainability, slack-fill, contamination, pricing, and health-related positioning.

Meyer also advises companies on compliance with Food and Drug Administration regulations, Federal Trade Commission requirements, marketing claims, and California-specific marketing rules. Her litigation experience spans early dispute resolution through filing, trial, and appeal in state and federal courts as well as arbitration proceedings.

Ramsey advises clients on complex business litigation and consumer class actions. His experience includes defending companies in class actions and mass arbitrations involving false advertising, false discounts, product liability, warranty disputes, privacy issues, and data breaches.

His client base has included retailers, consumer brands, manufacturers, lead generators, advertising networks, food and beverage businesses, insurers, health plans, hospitals, airlines, and telecommunications companies. Ramsey also advises businesses on marketing, advertising, pricing, privacy, and e-commerce matters.

Cardon, Meyer, and Ramsey have represented companies including Burberry, Coach, Lanvin Group, Lenovo, Levi Strauss, Nordstrom, Patagonia, Sephora, TJ Maxx, Vital Farms, Weight Watchers, and Williams-Sonoma.

The additions further build Paul Hastings’ complex litigation platform as the firm expands its ability to handle consumer class actions, coordinated arbitration matters, and disputes involving evolving advertising, privacy, and consumer protection requirements.
