Paul Hastings announced it added further strength with a leading private equity team headed by partner Alexander Temel. Temel will serve as global co-chair of the firm’s private equity practice and a founding member of its new Boston office.
Temel and the new team will advise renowned private equity clients in high-profile transactions ranging from leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations to structured preferred and growth equity investments. They represent premier clients like Goldman Sachs, Great Hill Partners, Sixth Street, and Thayer Street Partners, and they are a destination for their most sophisticated and complex matters.
This new team joins a solid global private equity practice co-chaired by Brian Richards. It combines forces with the leading private equity team that joined last fall, including global practice co-chair Scott Joachim, partners Ryan LaForce and Kaitlin Kines, and practice vice chair, Josh Ratner.
Temel and the new team further bolster an international private equity platform that represents leading private equity clients such as ABRY Partners, Accel-KKR, Francisco Partners, Goldman Sachs, H.I.G. Capital, Insight, KKR, Morgan Stanley, Oakley Capital Investments, Providence, Symphony Technology Group (STG), and York Capital Management.
Temel has experience advising private equity clients in traditional buyouts, early and late-stage structured preferred investments, and leveraged recapitalizations. And he also serves as primary external counsel to dozens of privately held companies, working across sectors ranging from software and financial and consumer services to healthcare, oil and gas, and media. He advises entrepreneurs and management in new ventures and rollovers.
The other notable recent additions strengthening the firm’s transactional practices and geographic footprint include a Band 1 finance team in Texas comprising partners Brian Moss, Guy Gribov, James Longhofer, and Alex Cross in Houston and Erec Winandy, Christopher Dewar, Bailey Pham, and Rafael Alvarado in Dallas; the three-partner team of David Elder, Chris Centrich, and Patrick Hurley in Houston; Colin Diamond, co-chair of global capital markets, and structured finance partners Shawn Kodes and Matthew Nemeth in New York; M&A partner Nikolaos Paschos and private equity and infrastructure M&A partner Frederik Mühl in Frankfurt, and capital markets partner David Ambler in Palo Alto.
