Paul Hastings announced it has welcomed Megan Roberts as a partner in its Chicago office, enhancing its top-ranked structured finance offerings. Previously at Sidley Austin, Roberts advises issuers, underwriters, and investors on asset-backed finance transactions, including capital markets and private securitizations.
Her expertise spans various asset classes, including student loans, unsecured consumer loans, auto loans, and trade receivables. She has worked with significant clients, including Barclays, Blackstone, Carlyle, and KKR, and notably represented them in the acquisition of a $10.1 billion portfolio of private student loans from Discover Bank and a $7.2 billion portfolio of super-prime recreational vehicle loans from BMO Bank.
Paul Hastings’ structured credit practice is highly regarded for securitization and specialty finance products, recently being recognized as a top Global and U.S. CLO Arranger Counsel by Creditflux for 2024. Roberts’ addition is part of the firm’s ongoing growth, following the recruitment of several other partners in New York and London.
