Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison announced that Linda Barrett has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in its Executive Compensation Department, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in advising private equity firms and public companies on compensation and benefits matters tied to complex corporate transactions.
Barrett brings extensive experience advising on executive compensation and ERISA-related issues arising in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, take-private transactions, spin-offs, initial public offerings, sales and other strategic deals. She also counsels companies and executives on compensation and benefit programs, including employment agreements and separation arrangements.

Barrett has advised clients across a range of industries, including technology, financial services, fintech, energy, media and entertainment, business services and transportation. Her transaction experience includes advising on KKR’s acquisition of Broadcom’s end-user computing division, New Mountain Capital’s strategic investment in the non-attest business of Grant Thornton Advisors LLC, and Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust’s acquisition of Preferred Apartment Communities.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University and a law degree from Rutgers Law School, where she served as editor of the Rutgers Law Review.
