Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison has announced that Mandeep Lotay will join the firm as Head of European Structured Finance & Securitizations and a partner in its Finance Group, based in London.
Lotay advises alternative asset managers, private capital funds, financial institutions, and public and private companies across a broad range of credit and structured finance transactions.
His practice includes private credit, asset-backed finance, securitizations, and other structured finance transactions.
Lotay also advises clients on the acquisition, disposal, and financing of loan origination businesses and performing and non-performing loan portfolios.
His financing experience spans full-recourse asset-based lending, earnings-based leveraged finance, and limited-recourse securitization transactions.
The hire strengthens Paul, Weiss’ structured finance capabilities in the UK and Europe and adds another senior finance lawyer to the firm’s expanding London operation.
Lotay brings experience across multiple asset classes and throughout the credit spectrum, including transactions involving alternative asset managers, private capital sponsors, lenders, and financial institutions.
He has also advised on cross-border structured finance matters across the UK and Europe, providing Paul, Weiss with additional depth for clients pursuing complex financing transactions across jurisdictions.
Lotay has been recognized by Chambers Europe for his capital markets and securitization work since 2009.
He is also ranked by The Legal 500 as a Leading Partner in Banking and Finance and by IFLR1000 as a Market Leader in Banking and in Capital Markets: Structured Finance and Securitization.
Lotay earned an LL.B., with honors, from Warwick University and a First Class LL.M. from the University of Cambridge’s Darwin College.
