Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison has expanded its New York-based Finance Group with the addition of Nicholas Schwartz, Mark Adler, and Julie Ann Lamm as partners, further bolstering the firm’s capabilities in complex debt and leveraged finance matters. The trio joins the firm from their prior practice and will be part of the Finance Group within the Corporate Department.
The new partners collectively advise corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies on a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions. Their experience spans syndicated and privately placed financings, recurring-revenue-based facilities, acquisition financings, and liability management transactions, as well as in-court and out-of-court restructurings. Their arrival reflects continued client demand for sophisticated, solutions-oriented financing advice amid increasingly complex capital structures.
Schwartz brings deep experience advising corporate and private equity-backed borrowers across the full spectrum of leveraged finance transactions, including acquisition and non-acquisition financings. He also advises on strategic restructuring matters involving complex liability management and capital structure issues. His work has been widely recognized by industry publications, including Chambers Global for USA Banking & Finance and Chambers USA for New York Banking & Finance. Schwartz earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Dartmouth College and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
Adler has substantial experience representing private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, public companies, and alternative capital providers in complex financing matters. His practice includes acquisition financings, liability management exercises, recapitalizations, and both in-court and out-of-court restructurings, as well as other special situation transactions. He earned his Bachelor of Talmudic Law from the Talmudic Research Center and his J.D., cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.
Lamm focuses her practice on leveraged finance transactions, advising corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors, and their portfolio companies on complex debt financings. She also brings experience across a range of capital structures and financing strategies, complementing the firm’s existing finance capabilities in New York and globally.
The additions further enhance Paul, Weiss’s market-leading finance platform at a time when clients are navigating evolving credit markets and heightened transactional complexity.
