PayPal has agreed to acquire Cymbio, a multi-channel orchestration platform that helps brands sell across “agentic” AI shopping surfaces and other e-commerce channels, as the payments company moves to deepen its commerce offering inside emerging AI-driven discovery and checkout experiences.
PayPal said it has previously partnered with Cymbio through its agentic commerce services, and that the acquisition will strengthen its ability to make merchant product catalogs discoverable within AI channels while routing orders into merchants’ existing fulfillment and management systems. The company highlighted Store Sync, one of PayPal’s agentic commerce services, as a key beneficiary of Cymbio’s technology and team.
PayPal said Store Sync is already live on Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity for a set of merchants, and that agentic commerce services and checkout options are available on those platforms today. The company also said OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini app and AI Mode are coming soon as additional surfaces for merchants.
Under the model PayPal described, merchants remain the merchant of record and retain customer relationships and control over their brand. PayPal cited Abercrombie & Fitch, Fabletics, Ashley Furniture, Newegg, and Adorama as current Store Sync merchants live on Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity.
Cymbio was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Tel Aviv. PayPal said Cymbio brings a decade of experience in brand integration and multi-channel commerce enablement, including marketplace connectivity.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
