PDS Health Technologies announced a partnership with the University of the Pacific to implement its dental-optimized instance of Epic, a leading electronic health record system, across the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and the Pacific Health Care Collaborative. The initiative will span dental, medical, and future ambulatory surgical settings, marking what the organizations describe as a first-of-its-kind academic deployment aimed at advancing dental-medical integration.
The platform will unify patient records across Pacific’s campuses in San Francisco and Sacramento, enabling a more integrated environment for patients, students, and clinicians. By consolidating data into a single system, the collaboration is expected to enhance visibility across care settings and provide a more comprehensive view of patient health.
At the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, the system will extend classroom learning into clinical environments, giving students access to real-time, interoperable patient data. This is intended to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, improve referral coordination, and better prepare students for integrated care delivery.
The partnership also includes revenue cycle managed services from PDS Health Technologies, designed to align clinical workflows with financial operations. This component aims to improve operational efficiency and overall financial performance across Pacific’s care settings.
PDS Health Technologies’ platform currently supports more than 14 million patients and is deployed across over 1,250 care sites. The company positions its Epic-based solution as a high-performance infrastructure that integrates workflows, data analytics, and patient experience across dental and medical environments.
The collaboration is expected to serve as a model for academic health systems by aligning education, clinical care, and operations on a unified digital foundation, while also supporting future advancements in clinical research and data-driven care delivery.
