Perceptic: $12 Million Raised For AI Operating System For Drug Development

Perceptic, an AI-first operating system for biopharma, officially emerged from stealth and announced $12 million in funding backed by investors including Accel, Air Street Capital, and Elder Gull, as reported by Fortune.

The company said it has worked directly with global pharmaceutical companies since launch and is already live at top 10 pharmaceutical companies, biotechs, and CROs. Perceptic’s platform is designed to function as an AI operating system across the full drug lifecycle, spanning asset scouting, scientific evaluations, and clinical decision-making.

Perceptic was founded by Tilman Flock, Martin Copes, and Mohamed Zaki T., all of whom previously worked at Palantir Technologies. The founders said the company was built to address inefficiencies in pharmaceutical research and development, where institutional knowledge is often fragmented across teams and projects.

According to the company, researchers face increasing difficulty managing complex scientific data, workflows, and decision-making processes across drug discovery and development programs. Perceptic said its AI platform is intended to create a shared intelligence layer where insights compound over time and scientists can confidently evaluate outcomes in highly regulated environments.

The founders also emphasized their experience building AI infrastructure at Palantir, including foundational work on Palantir’s AIP platform and large language model systems used in high-stakes enterprise environments. They believe biology and healthcare represent one of the most impactful applications for artificial intelligence.

Perceptic said the company has assembled a team from leading AI labs, AI biotech companies, and pharmaceutical organizations, with many employees joining during the company’s stealth phase because of its mission to accelerate drug development through AI.

The company plans to continue expanding its platform capabilities while hiring additional talent across engineering and research.

KEY QUOTES:

“From day 1, we’ve worked directly with global pharma on real production problems. Today, Perceptic is already live at top 10 pharmaceutical companies, biotechs, and CROs.”

“Drug discovery isn’t just expensive and slow because the science is hard. Even the best researchers can only go so deep in so many directions at once. Critical context gets lost between teams. Institutional knowledge disappears between projects. Promising paths go unexplored.”

“Perceptic is the AI operating system for the full drug lifecycle. Mission control across asset scouting, scientific evaluations, and clinical decisions. One shared intelligence layer where every insight compounds. Built so scientists can genuinely challenge and trust.”
