Perceptron Network has raised $6.5 million in strategic financing to launch a platform that enables artificial intelligence companies to commission specific datasets from a distributed contributor community. The round included EAK Ventures, P2 Ventures, Sigma Capital, Selini Capital, QCP Capital-NY, CoinDCX, Momentum 6, DeFi Capital, Walrus Foundation, Aethir, Colosseum, GuruDev Capital, Tempo Finance, NewTribe Capital, Digital Consensus Fund and CodeCraft Capital.

Perceptron Network said it has grown organically to more than 800,000 contributors and over 300,000 daily active users.

The community includes doctors, lawyers, native-language speakers and other users who can contribute their knowledge and real-world data while retaining ownership of that information.

Through its new data-questing platform, AI developers will be able to request targeted, high-value datasets that match specific training, evaluation or product-development needs.

Perceptron’s model is intended to connect demand from AI companies with individuals who possess specialized expertise or access to real-world information that may be difficult to obtain through conventional datasets.

The company’s next milestone is to expand its network to 5 million nodes and reduce the gap between AI companies’ demand for data and the available supply of relevant human-generated information.

KEY QUOTES:

“We’ve already shown that mission can become reality, scaling to hundreds of thousands of nodes organically. Now we’re launching our data-questing platform, so AI companies can commission specific, high-value datasets directly from our community.”

Peter Anthony, Co-Founder and CEO of Perceptron Network
