Permira Appoints Technology Investor Mike Hoffmann As Partner

Permira, a global investment firm, announced the appointment of Mike Hoffmann as a Partner in its Technology team, based in Menlo Park, California. The appointment underscores Permira’s continued commitment to expanding its technology investing platform across software, data, cybersecurity, and AI-enabled enterprise platforms.

Hoffmann will work closely with Permira’s global Technology team to identify new investment opportunities, support portfolio companies and management teams in executing strategic growth priorities, and contribute to talent development across the sector. He joins Permira after more than 15 years of software and technology investing experience.

Prior to joining Permira, Hoffmann spent more than a decade at Thoma Bravo, where he served as Partner on the firm’s flagship buyout fund and led investments across the software sector, including infrastructure, security, data, IT, and related technology platforms. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Providence Equity Partners and Citigroup, focusing on technology, media, and telecommunications investments.

Permira said the appointment comes as artificial intelligence continues to reshape the technology landscape, creating new opportunities for investors and businesses alike. Hoffmann’s experience is expected to strengthen the firm’s capabilities across software investing and AI-driven technology transformation initiatives.
